Coming soon to Jeannie Avent Gallery is this fascinating exhibition from Adrian Whittle: Travels with my Camera. Starting on Thursday 3o July until Tuesday 11th August.
Adrian explains the background to his exhibition:
“The exhibition focuses on street photography and portraits from Cuba, India and Myanmar as well as a few from other countries. I am interested in the stories of everyday people and my approach is to spend time talking to the subjects of the photographs before taking my camera out.
People are often willing to open up and to talk about their lives, their work and their families. Some also want to know about me and ask quite searching questions about family relationships and circumstances.
Wherever possible I try to print copies of the pictures and give them to the people who have so generously given me their time. I have come to know a few of these people quite well and try to catch up with them on return visits to India and Myanmar.”
