Ribera: Art of Violence is the first UK retrospective of the widely celebrated Spanish Baroque artist, Jusepe de Ribera (1591–1652). It brings together some of his finest work from international collections, some never shown before in the UK. £16.50 adults; £15.50 senior citizens; £8 concessions. Free for under 18s and Friends. Ticket includes entry to Collection. *Ticket prices include a voluntary Gift Aid donation.

Late Events

Friday 19 October – Friday 7 December: Early Introductions

8.30–10am. £8 adults; children free. Suggested age: 0–5 years. Visit the Gallery before opening hours with your little ones, and enjoy exclusive access to our paintings. During this family-friendly morning, take the time to crawl through our Collection, and enjoy an art-making activity. (Please note, this Early Introductions session will take place in the Collection and does not include entry to the Ribera exhibition.

Lectures and Talks

Tomorrow’s World – Intimations of the Future

Tuesday mornings, 10.30–11.45am. £12; £10 Friends & concessions. Join accomplished thinkers as they speculate about how the world will look a generation from now, covering areas such as social change, culture, the media and ethics.

30 October: Jonathan Fenby – China’s Unfinished Revolution

Art Sundays

2–4pm every Sunday. £3 per child; adults free. Suggested age: 4–12 years. Sunday is art day! Come along to the Gallery every Sunday for a drop-in family art-making workshop. Each week there will be a different theme for you to explore and a piece of work to display proudly at the end.
