I am a personal travel consultant and run my own franchise of Not Just Travel, I love finding the ideal holiday for my customers and hearing all about their travels on their return. I am also BNI ambassador that supports members in growing their business.
How long have you lived in the area?
I have lived in Lewisham Borough all my life and I have lived in SE23 for 31 years.
What has changed most during that time?
Forest Hill has a handful of shops and I have seen them change ownership so many times. The biggest change is no longer having any banks in the area.
What do you most value about the area/street you live in?
My neighbours. We don’t live in each other’s pockets but whenever we need to come together to support each other we do. It’s a real sense of community. Kids can play safely on the green areas.
What one thing would you change?
To end online businesses that rip people off with cheap alternatives and make it harder for small local businesses to survive.
What’s the one thing you couldn’t do without?
My UK Qveri wine!!! It is the 1stever UK naturally made wine so no additives and I love it!
Do you belong to any groups?
I belong to BNI SE London network referral group. Last year I got 45% of my business from BNI. It’s a great way of making new business contacts and support for a small business owner as it can be quite lonely working for yourself.I am excited that we will be opening a new group in Dulwich on June 13that Bel Air houseon Gallery Road, Dulwich Village, SE21.
Describe your perfect weekend
I work 7 days a week and I like to be available to my customers if they are travelling. Other than that, I am usually catching up on housework and family activities.
Where is your favourite place to eat?
Ponte Nuovo Restaurant in Crystal Palace. It has a really nice friendly atmosphere in there and I love Italian food.
Coffee or tea? Where?
Peppermint tea and love to sit outside on a nice warm day at Gail’s Bakery in DulwichVillage.
The best meal I’ve ever had…
I have just come back from a site visit at Secrets hotel in Jamaica. At Blue Mountain Restaurant the food was to die for. They also catered so well for my dietary needsas I am a non-dairy person.
The best kept secret…
I always say to my customers I am the secret you can share. So I have to say it’s me!
The book I’m reading at the moment…
“The Chimp Paradox”
