Rebecca Hepplewhite (cello) returns to perform with The Ionian Singers and Timothy Salter (conductor and piano) in a programme of discoveries alongside less well-known music from familiar composers. Choral music by Brahms, Vaughan Williams, Joubert and Maconchy is interspersed with music for cello and piano by Schumann, Brahms, Fauré, Martinů and composers from the Spectrum contemporary collection. The instruments join the voices in rarely-heard music by S.S.Wesley and Arensky and a selection of Salter’s much-loved English folk-song arrangements.
