Twins Group 2015 (5)

On 12 November, Home Start Southwark will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a celebration event at their community Centre in East Dulwich.

Home-Start Southwark is a Home-Start scheme working in the London Borough of Southwark. They are a registered charity with their own management committee and work within the guidelines set out by Home-Start UK. Established in 1995, Home Start Southwark now works alongside 200 families and 400 local children each year.

They provide trained volunteers with parenting experience to help any Southwark parent, with at least one child under five, who is finding it hard to cope. Volunteers provide practical and emotional support to struggling parents enabling them to create happier lives and environments for their children.

The celebration will start at 12-noon with refreshments and fun activates for all the family including face painting, bouncy castle, healthy eating stalls and cake. Local families are invited to join the celebration and find out more about their services.

Event Date: Thursday 12 November 2015, 12-2pm
Where: Home Start Southwark, Albrighton Community Centre, 37 Albrighton Road, London SE22 8AH
Special Guest: Rob Parkinson, CEO of Home-Start UK

Core funding comes from Southwark Council but times are hard and the financial pressures are great so this year they are also particularly grateful to Trust House Charitable Foundation and BBC Children In Need, who have provided three years funding for their innovative Bump to Babe programme. They are always looking for new volunteers, trustees and of course funds! So if you might be interested in helping Home Start Southwark and their families please get in touch.
