Dulwich Opera Company present a weekend of concerts of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) at Kings College Hospital in aid of the Kings Charity
Dulwich Opera Company are bringing opera’s classic tale to Kings on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th January. This young and vibrant company will be performing in St. Luke’s Chapel as the culmination of a 4-day workshop where young professional singers will be coached through every aspect of the music and their roles.
Featuring some of Mozart’s most glorious melodies, the music will be performed in the original Italian with piano accompaniment. Music Director, Kelvin Lim, will be directing the performances from the piano, and brings a great deal of experience to the concerts having worked for many of the major opera companies here in the UK and abroad.
Premièred in 1786, Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro remains one of the most loved and performed of all operas around the world. Based on Beaumarchais’ popular and controversial play, it recounts the events of a single day of madness in the palace of Count Almaviva and his attempts to delay the wedding of two of his servants.
Tickets are available on the door for both performances for a suggested donation of £10.
