Horniman Kids Sleepover
Saturday 8 December, 7pm–10am
Join us after hours for the Horniman’s first family sleepover. Come to the Museum once the public have left, and the Walrus is tucked up in bed, to explore the Horniman by night. Roll out your sleeping bag and camp out in the galleries, next to a dodo, or even a tiger. The evening will be full of fun activities and exciting exploration such as storytelling, crafts and trails.
Please bear in mind that this will be a very exciting experience and be prepared that you may not get much sleep on the night!
A light breakfast is included in the morning, plus hot drinks for adults. Horniman staff will be on site throughout the event. Ticket prices: Child ticket £60. Adult ticket £60. Every adult and child requires a ticket. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum of two adults per child booking. Please see the website for full information.
The Snow Queen Storytelling
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 December
11.00am, 12.00pm, 1.00pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm – 30-minute performances
Enjoy a storytelling performance of the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale of The Snow Queen. In this seasonal fairy tale meet Gerda, Kal and the Snow Queen on a wintry journey to Lapland. With song and puppetry by Sandal Sticks Theatre. Tickets: Adult £1, Child £5. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Xingu Village
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 December
10am-5.30pm
Visit an immersive installation about the daily life of the Kuikuro people of the Xingu, an indigenous community of around 400 people from the very heart of the Brazilian Amazon region. This exciting experimental experience brings together the most advanced augmented reality and video mapping technologies with the ancestral rituals of the Xingu territories.
