Brockley Max is back and quite literally centre stage celebrating its 23rd Birthday from 31 May to 8 June. Combining music, art, performance, and exhibitions, we have things you wouldn’t want to miss!

With something for the whole family to enjoy, Brockley Max’s 2024 programme is taking shape. Working alongside various venues in Lewisham we have must-attend events for you to enjoy this spring.

At a glance, here are just some of the events that could make it into your calendar:

  • The infamous open-air Brockley Max Opening Night is returning at Coulgate Street on 31 May, with live music and more!
  • Art In The Park is back on Hilly Fields on 8 June from 12-6 pm – with family-friendly activities such as art workshops, storytelling and a craft market.
  • Following on from the Black Icon’s Project last year, Lift Her Up will bring you meaningful panel discussions, films and workshops regarding black female trailblazers in Lewisham.
  • Brockley Music Trail brings the whole community together through live music from front gardens to public spaces on Saturday 1 June.
  • Brockley Max rides the airwaves this year with the Festival Radio Station. We’re joining forces with One Harmony Radio, to broadcast festival highlights. There’ll be events coverage, interviews for the Daily Max half hour and plenty more besides. Be sure to tune in!
  • Folk In The Garden – an all-dayer of the best of Lewisham folk bands on 8 June.

And plenty more to get excited about…

Moira Tait, founder and director of the Brockley Max Festival adds: “Lewisham is such a diverse area. It was important our festival programme reflected that. We are offering a huge variety of events this year so we’re confident there’s something to suit all tastes. Whether you want to watch comedy, learn harmonica or listen to our radio station.”
