Peckham’s Bellenden Road gets a new weekly food destination as Peckham Farmers Market launches on 24 January
One of Peckham’s coolest streets is about to get even better. On Saturday, 24 January, Peckham Farmers Market launches on Bellenden Road, transforming The Belham Primary School into a vibrant weekly food destination designed to be a true one-stop shop for the weekly food shop.
Running every Saturday from 9:30am to 3pm, the market will bring together 25+ handpicked traders, offering the freshest, most nutrient-packed produce available, all set to the backdrop of live music, street food, great coffee, wine and a relaxed neighbourhood atmosphere.
Peckham Farmers Market is built around one core principle: freshness and variety. Produce is harvested as close to market day as possible to maximise flavour and nutritional value, with shoppers able to choose from all the weekly staples plus an exceptional range of varieties you simply won’t find in supermarkets.
At its heart, the market champions British, naturally grown and organic produce, with a strong focus on grass-fed meats, day-boat fish and regenerative farming. Everything is produced without chemical inputs, prioritising soil health, biodiversity and nutrient density, exactly as nature intended.
Alongside the best of British farming, the market will also welcome a carefully curated line-up of boutique European purveyors, offering cheeses, charcuterie and antipasti such as marinated olives, dips, feta and sun-dried tomatoes. There will be flaky, buttery pastries, handmade bread, pies, tarts and an ever-changing selection of indulgent sweet and savoury treats.
To complete the experience, Peckham Farmers Market will feature some of London’s best street food, alongside wines to sip at the market or take home, plus cocktails, making it as much a place to linger as it is to shop.
“We want Peckham Farmers Market to be where people come for the freshest, most nourishing food they can buy, with real choice and real variety. You will be able to do your entire weekly shop in one place, discover things you’ve never seen before, and actually enjoy your Saturday while you’re doing it.”
Traders include:
- Wild Country Organics – Award-winning growers known for going far beyond the supermarket standard, with an extraordinary range of produce including over 40 tomato varieties, multiple types of pak choi, purple potatoes and rare vegetables, all harvested specifically for market day.
- The French Comté – A standout selection of French cheeses and charcuterie, including Morbier, four ages of Comté and magret de canard.
