When actor/painter Michael Fenner embarked on the UK and Eire tour of the West End production of ‘The Mousetrap’, he was determined not to waste his time in the pubs and bars and lying-in. So he decided to paint a ‘plein-air’ record of the places that he visited.
From the peaks of the Malvern Hills to the Antrim coast, from the shores of Loch Ness to the busy streets of Bath and Newcastle, Michael sketched a series of panels and canvases that serve as a unique reminder of life on the road, accompanied by diary notes of encounters on the way.
The show also features his latest works of Venice and London.
The exhibition runs from 4th-16th February at the Jeannie Avent Gallery in East Dulwich, 14 North Cross Rd, SE22 9EU.
You are invited to a Private View of ‘Painting the Mousetrap Tour, Venice and London’ on Thursday 4th February from 7pm – 10pm at the Jeannie Avent Gallery (the exhibition runs until Tues 16th Feb).
