Hello, I’m Lee Moffatt, a local Property Investor and Developer based in West Dulwich.  I run a small property investment company with my wife Elaine. We work with busy individuals with an interest in investing in the SE London Property Market. Our projects usually involve taking neglected, unloved houses and making them into beautiful homes for families and young professionals.

How long have you lived in the area?

I’ve lived in West Dulwich for around a year and a half now.
What brought you here? When we bought our previous home, as a young couple, we did not think about distance from schools. We now have a 3 year old son, William, who was getting to school age so we needed to move. Dulwich was top of our list due to the choice of schools available. He now attends Rosemead which is just short walk from our home.

What has changed most during that time?

The biggest change has been recently. As we moved mid-Lockdown we were not able enjoy much of the local shops, pubs, restaurants and café’s which was disappointing. With everything now starting to open-up we have just started to properly explore the area and what it has to offer.

What do you most value about the area/street you live in?The community feel of our street, everyone is very friendly, and children all play out together. We all look out for one another.  I find that quite rare in London these days.

What one thing would you change?

A better internet connection!  I unfortunately live on a street with no high-speed broadband which is painful when running your own business from home.

Do you know your neighbours?

Yes. Most of our neighbors are young families with children who go to the local schools so we all know each other. We have an active WhatsApp group for the street. Conversations range from organizing socially distanced evening drinks on our driveway, trick or treating with the children to helping out with car trouble or assistance with DIY.

The most famous person you’ve seen or met?

Probably Prince William, I bumped into him when I was at the University of St Andrews during my student days.

Do you belong to any groups?

I’m a member of the Entrepreneurs Circle, they recently setup a local Dulwich Business Owners Group. It’s great place to meet up with other local business owners as we get to share all the challenges and successes of running our own business.

What is your favourite shop?

Scotch Meat Stores on Rosendale Road. They should really consider their name as they sell so much more than just meat it’s so easy to overlook if you never been in.  From quality meat, fresh fruit and veg to fresh bread, cheese, herbs and Pastries they have it all. Top quality produce and all reasonably priced.

What was the last thing you bought there?A couple of Rib Eye Steaks and Bag of Fresh Thyme.

My secret ambition..I’ve spent some time exploring the mountains of China. It is some of the most serene and awe-inspiring scenery I’ve experienced in my travels. I’d love to create some sort of nature retreat in that type of environment for Busy Execs and Entrepreneurs to get away from the stresses of their business and focus on themselves.
