6.30am-8.30am. Part of the award-winning multi-national networking organisation, BNI, Adventurers brings together businesses local to Dulwich with the aim of passing business and keeping money in the local community.
First Aid Course at Alleyn’s
9am-3.30pm. Our First Aid courses equip you with the knowledge and confidence to act quickly in emergencies, potentially saving lives when every second counts. Attending a first aid course is one of the most valuable things you can do for yourself and those around you whether that be work colleagues, friends or family.
Goose Green Lunch Club
12.30pm – 2pm. The lunch club is a friendly and informal club for people over 55. We meet every Thursday during term time and enjoy a delicious main course and dessert with tea and coffee for £5.
Indian Dining with Susie Pajares
7.30pm-11pm. Famed local chef Susie Pajares got quite a reputation during lock-down when she set up her Indian take away kitchen in St Barnabas Church Hall. Hogarth at the Hustings
8pm-9pm. The long British tradition of political satire came into the fore again with last July’s General Election. At the root is William Hogarth’s Election Entertainment prints from the 1750s. His ruthless exposure of electoral corruption and hypocrisy sets the stage for later generations of satirists including James Gillray, Private Eye and today’s digital artist Cold War Steve. Rupert will explain Hogarth’s many jokes and references and reveal some surprisingly topical themes, from voter identification to the politics of immigration.
Leonard Cohen: Mystical Roots of Genius by Harry Freedman
8pm-9pm. The Council of Christians and Jews South East London Branch are presenting an evening with Harry Freedman.
The singer and poet Leonard Cohen was deeply learned in Judaism and Christianity, the spiritual traditions that underpinned his self-identity and the way he made sense of the world. Coffee Club Social

Free Women’s Taster Golf Sessions

An Evening with Emma Barnett
7pm-8pm. When Emma Barnett began her second maternity leave, she realized that, despite having been there before, as soon as her first leave finished the rose-tinted lenses had descended and she immediately forgot what the experience was actually like when you’re in it. This collective forgetting, which leads to well-meaning comments such as ‘enjoy every minute’ and ‘treasure this special time’, is doing a disservice to women, leaving them unprepared for the more complicated reality of what it means to be on maternity service.

Peckham Rye Park parkrun
9am-10am. Peckham Rye parkrun is a 3-lap anti-clockwise course, entirely on tarmac is mainly flat and therefore a potential PB course. The start & finish are located close to the Colyton Road park entrance.

Fun Run for Youngsters
12pm-1pm. As part of the Dulwich Festival, Dulwich Park Runners are organising youngsters’ fun runs to open the event in Dulwich Park on May 11th. The runs start from 12 noon. The races will start in the American Garden area of Dulwich Park, not far from the Rosebery Gate to the park.
Lugma by Noor Murad
12pm-1pm. Lugma in Arabic means a bite. For Noor, as a chef and co-author of two Ottolenghi Test Kitchen cookbooks, her career has been centred around taking bites of food and analysing them to create the perfect dish. Raised in Bahrain and now based in London, Noor takes you on a culinary journey to celebrate her own food culture. Her recipes are inspired by the foods of her upbringing: the elaborate rice dishes and black limes of the Gulf, an abundance of herbs and sour flavours from Iran, liberal spice and chilli heat from India and the vibrant foods of the Levant – to create a unique collection of traditional and re-imagined dishes from the Middle East.

North House (Dulwich Open Garden)
2pm-5pm. North House is opening their garden for Link Age Southwark. Entry £4, children free. Free parking in surrounding streets.
Described by some as “the most romantic garden in Dulwich”, two mature cherry trees command centre stage. Since the last time it opened, a bank of fifty-year-old shrubs has been removed, revealing a beautiful old brick wall. By opening in May, the cow parsley should be out!
