St Christopher’s Hospice through this winter

Local comedian Tom Allen plans a Spooktacular quiz-night to raise money to support St Christopher’s Hospice through this winter

Comedian Tom Allen, currently starring in TV’s ‘Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice’, will be hosting a Spooktacular Halloween themed online quiz for his local hospice at 7.30pm on Thursday 22 October. Tom is hoping to raise over £10,000, which will go some way to bridging the fundraising gap that the hospice is facing; the hospice is still hundreds of thousands of pounds short in its fundraising this year because Covid-19 has forced the cancellation of fundraising events.

St Christopher’s Hospice is a charity which holds a special place in many people’s hearts in South East London because it supports around 1,200 local people – every single day – to live as well as possible. St Christopher’s helps people right across Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.

Tom comments, “I’ll be live in your living room with some fiendishly tricky questions, and we’ll be having a great time at the Spooktacular quiz. If you can help me raise £10,000 on the night, it would fund over 650 visits by specialist nurses to people at home, where they can stay safe with their families this winter. It’s such a tough time for everyone, but however much you can afford to give, please help bridge the gap at St Christopher’s. It will help mean that they can still be there for your friends, family and neighbours if you need them.”

You can join the quiz on Facebook Live and You Tube Live at 7.30pm on Thursday 22 October – no accounts or sign-ins are needed. For information, or to register to receive a reminder, visit www.stchristophers.org.uk/tomallenquiz.
