Gabrielle is delighted to be returning to the Jeannie Avent Gallery where she has exhibited her work for many years.
The exhibition will include landscape drawings and paintings and figurative metal sculptures. The show opens on the 29th April and runs until the 17th May. The gallery will be open between 12 noon and 6pm every day.
Gabrielle studied at Camberwell School of Art leaving with a First Class honours degree in Fine Art Sculpture. She has also completed several courses in Blacksmithing and Forgework and now has her own workshop set up in Forest Hill.
Gabrielle draws from life in charcoal and watercolour and can often be found in the woods of One Tree Hill. Working at the forge she heats and beats machined lengths of steel until they take on a more organic form – more like the lines in her drawings. She calls her sculptures ‘drawings in space’ freeing the marks from the paper and allowing them to dance through the air.
