Adult Learning Lewisham Open Day

Adult Learning Lewisham are holding an Open Day on Thursday 30th June from 1.30-8pm at their Granville Park Centre, Granville Park, SE13 7DU. If you are thinking about taking a course and need some inspiration, they have over 700 part time courses to choose from. Everything from art to childcare, glasswork to jewellery design, print making to floristry and much more. There will be drop in activities and specialist advice on offer. Tutors will be demonstrating glass painting, stained glass techniques, beginners upholstery techniques, machine embroidery and fabric embellishment, print making, and cake decorating techniques. Clothes making tutor Anne Mcleman will also be hosting a drop-in sewing skills workshop. Take a tour of the creative spaces, including the jewellery and glasswork workshop. Tours take place at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm and will last approximately 20 minutes. Learners and tutors, many of whom are local artists, will also be selling beautiful handmade craft items throughout the day.

New craft workshops at Stag & Bow

Stag & Bow is an award winning, specialist haberdashery, textiles, craft and design shop in Forest Hill. As well as beautiful fabrics, wool, haberdashery and locally crafted gifts, they are well renowned for their makers workshops. Making skills taught are wide ranging from crochet, knitting, sewing and embroidery all the way through to specialist skills like millinery, quilt making and lino printing (full workshop schedule here). Now the Stag & Bow team are hosting new workshop programmes especially designed for young, local aspiring designer makers, kicking off with their Kids Craft Club during the May/June half term. Young crafters aged 8-12 yrs will learn felting, screen printing, tie dye, weaving & knotting over the course of four days. Creative Writing Workshops for Adults at Dulwich Books

Dulwich Books of West Dulwich are delighted to present two creative writing workshops, the first will look at getting started, and the second will focus on what to do when you’ve completed your novel. CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP: THE HABIT WITH ANDREA MASON – Thursday 30th October at 7pm In preparation for National Novel Writing Month in November, Literary Kitchen’s Andrea Mason will take you through the planning process for your month of writing, including scheduling, making a mood board, free writing through problems and planning the novel.
