The UK’s first open-air cinema for children launches in Dulwich Park this Summer

The Luna Cinema launches BRAND NEW outdoor cinema for kids running from July to September in six venues across the country. The programme includes screenings of family-friendly classics such as The Lion King and Aladdin, alongside this year’s blockbusters including Paddington 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming as well as musical phenomenon The Greatest Showman. Newly added to the Luna Kids schedule, the first ever outdoor screenings of The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and Stick Man. Luna Kids will utilise the highest definition outdoor screen in the country, meaning a crystal-clear picture even in full daylight. Going to the cinema with young children can be stressful; getting little people to sit still for over an hour, negotiating constant snack and toilet breaks whilst also trying to stay quiet can be tough. The stunningly beautiful Georgian Mansion, Belair House. Situated in the heart of Dulwich Village. What better location could there be for a halloween special outdoor screening of ‘The Conjuring’. Join Dulwich Picture Gallery for a weekend of outdoor cinema, vintage fashion, late opening tours, talks and debates at their very first ‘Men of Mystery’ themed MayFest on 15-16th May.  Did you know that Eric Ravilious was said to be inspired by the films of Alfred Hitchcock? Dress for the 30s and 40s and enter a world of strange perspectives, shadowy interiors and mysterious scenarios. East Dulwich Picturehouse is open!

After a successful VIP launch last week, the East Dulwich Picturehouse officially opened today! The Cinema is equipped with state of the art digital projection and sound technology, with comfortable seating and ample legroom. There are 3 Screens totalling a capacity of 244 seats: Screen 1 – 105 seats, Screen 2 – 86 seats and Screen 3 – 53 seats, with extra seating for the disabled. There is also a café/bar serving good quality adult and children’s victuals from a menu created by an experienced chef, with beverages of equal standards, serving espresso drinks of fine Fairtrade coffee and an array of quality wines and boutique beers.
