Artist Louise Ward will be showing a new body of work at the Jeannie Avent Gallery in September in her solo exhibition entitled  ‘Still’.

Louise was originally trained as a Sculptor at Camberwell School of Art , but quickly moved to Fine Art Photography, which she studied part time at Central School of Art. Louise makes unique works and series of Limited Edition Prints which explore the concept of Time and the Natural World.

“I am fascinated by the concept of Time.  I explore the boundaries and overlaps between Photography and other Visual Art forms such as Painting, Drawing and Textiles. In ‘Still’ I examine the idea that time is not  necessarily linear'”

This exhibition focuses on her inquiry into the genre of Still Life painting her starting point being the 17th Century Dutch Artists. It features new still life images of food , flowers and the micro world of insects and other small creatures.

Louise lives and works in her garden studio in East Dulwich.

She founded Art@57 which she currently curates at 57 North Cross Road, in collaboration with local business woman and talented chef Suzanne James.
