This October half-term join Skewbald Theatre for an exciting story packed full of adventure, snow and dragons! With lively songs and magical puppets bringing to life Michael Morpurgo’s beautifully atmospheric tale of ‘Mimi and the Mountain Dragon’.

High up in the mountains of Switzerland the villagers of Dorta bang their drums, blow their horns and ring the bells to keep the fearsome Mountain Dragon away. But this year is different, one snowy morning Mimi discovers something extraordinary – a baby dragon sleeping in her woodshed! The little creature is lost and frightened but how did he get there and what happens when his mother comes looking for him? Mimi must be extremely brave if she is going to reach the Dragon’s castle at the very top of the mountain and return the baby to its mother.

Running time 50 mins. Suitable for families and children aged 3+ and everyone who loves stories. Adapted and directed by Hayley Byfield and Tory Sandars. Book, lyrics and music by Caroline Wigmore and Jen Green. Adapted from the book ‘Mimi and the Mountain Dragon’ written by Micheal Morpurgo and illustrated by Helen Stephen.

Jen Green composer, writer and local resident says of the production “It’s been such a joy to create a show for small children, as both Caroline Wigmore and I have children of our own. When children like or dislike something, they just tell you, and I was pleased to see how much my three-year-old son loves this show. Caroline and I love bringing theatre to locations where theatre may be harder to come by, and live performances that have been especially made for children. We hope your children get a kick out of Mimi and the Mountain Dragon!”
