It’s not all paintings at London’s oldest picture gallery in Dulwich.

There is a host of events and activities for everyone on an almost daily basis.

The Friends organization uses its golden address book in particular to bring in interesting speakers and musicians to enrich the audience.

Highlights of forthcoming events include a young and lively quintet – the Magnard Ensemble – who will give an autumn concert at Dulwich Picture Gallery on Wednesday 7 November.

A foot-tapping and varied programme, featuring pieces from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess to Bach, is designed to appeal to all ages and tastes and includes some more modern works by Paul Patterson which will close the evening.

The well-received wind quintet is chosen from a pool of highly talented musicians and has performed internationally as well as at leading concert halls and festivals in the UK.

Tickets cost £10 for under-18’s, £20 for Friends and £22 otherwise – and include a glass of wine after the event. They are available online, from the Gallery or by phone 0208 299 8750.
