From the empowering rhyming words of Thea Chops Books, and the creative screen printing talents of Flat 102, comes a collaboration to help spread the message that girls are equal to boys.

The Girls are Equal to Boys range was launched last week by the two mum-run companies, with their 100% natural cotton, unbleached and undyed tote bag.

Flat 102’s home and lifestyle products are hand printed using bold colours to create an uplifting dose of cheerfulness. Thea Chops Books write rhyming children’s stories with messages of equality and acceptance. This is their first collaboration.

While discussing the project, Steph Orr, Flat 102 founder and mum of two commented, “Having long been a fan of Thea Chops Books I was so excited when Suze got in contact to discuss a collaboration.  As a mum myself, the message that girls are equal to boys is so important to me and I’m really proud to be playing a part in spreading that message.”

When asked, Suzanne Hemming (East Dulwich local), the writer and publisher behind Thea Chops Books, and mum of one daughter, Thea, said “I’ve loved Flat 102’s style since I discovered them through Instagram about a year ago, so I approached Steph about working together. One of the main messages of our first book is that girls are equal to boys, and I’m passionate about spreading that message.  Flat 102’s bags are a gorgeous (and practical!) way to get that out there.”

The bags retail at £12.00 and are available to buy online from Flat 102 and from All By Mama
