Abstract Expressionism

Abstract expressionism as a whole will be represented in this show at the Royal Academy. In addition to the work of celebrated artists such as Kline, Pollock, Rothko, Newman, Still and De Kooning, it will feature work by many lesser-known but influential artists.
Beyond Caravaggio: An Exhibition at the National Gallery on Caravaggio and his followers

With his use of live models, dramatic lighting effects and powerful storytelling, Caravaggio revolutionised European painting in the seventeenth century. This talk explores the work of his followers from those in his immediate circle to those who absorbed his lessons at distance.
