This year’s Dulwich Festival Artists’ Open House will take place over the weekends of 12-13 and 19-20 May, 11-6pm. Over 250 South London-based artists will open their homes and studios, giving the public an opportunity to view their work and talk to the makers about their creative processes.

This year’s artists will represent a huge range of styles and disciplines, ranging from painting, photography and illustration to ceramics, jewellery, textiles and model dioramas, many in the intimate setting of their own homes and studios.

The Festival’s Artists’ Open House is also an opportunity to discover a diverse range of hidden creative communities within your own local neighbourhood; from industrial warehouses in Peckham, to grand manor houses in Dulwich.

Tucked away behind the busy thoroughfare of Forest Hill, Havelock Mews is a charming cobbled street with a delightfully incongruous mix of buildings. Wander through the studios, chat with the artists and designers; relax in the sunshine as you take in a live music set or sample some street food.

Or why not head over to Copeland Park and the iconic Bussey Building in Peckham and visit one of the vibrant community’s latest offerings; the Kiln Rooms Clay Store is a showcase for dozens of up-and-coming ceramic artists and designers.

And for yet another completely different experience, the restored Georgian mansion, Bell House, in Dulwich village, will be using its elegant walls as a gallery space.

Full details of this year’s displaying artists can be found in the official Dulwich Festival Artists’ Open House 2018 booklet and on the Dulwich Festival website where you can download a copy of the booklet.

The Dulwich Festival’s celebration of Street Art continues with a new commission for the London Wildlife Trust’s beautiful gardens at 28 Marsden Road, Peckham SE15 4EE. Acclaimed street artist ATM will be painting live during the first weekend of the Festival. Take a stroll over to the gardens on 12th & 13th May where, weather-permitting, ATM will be creating a site-specific mural for the entrance. The wildlife gardens are home to a variety of interesting species and Sunday 13th will see a range of children-friendly wildlife activities led by the LWT team.

The full extent of the amazing Street Art to be found throughout Dulwich can be explored by joining one of the Street Art Walks led by Amanda Greatorex at 2pm on either Saturday 12th or Sunday 13th May.
