East Dulwich based charity Link Age Southwark is looking to partner with local businesses to support their work with older people in Southwark. These businesses will become Business Patrons of the vibrant charity, which has been working in Southwark for 23 years to combat loneliness and isolation among older people.

The charity recruits volunteers from the local community to offer free services to people over 60, including over 20 activity groups, weekly befriending visits, a volunteer driving service and support for people living with dementia. Link Age Southwark currently has over 350 active volunteers supporting nearly 600 older people in the borough.

By becoming a Business Patron, you will join a group of thriving local businesses supporting Link Age Southwark to the value of £500 a year. Your business will benefit from visibility in the borough and association with a local, community-based charity with a strong reputation of recruiting volunteers to support older people in the local area.

Current Business Patron Lesley O’Mara, Managing Director of Michael O’Mara Books, says, “We’re very proud to support Link Age Southwark. It’s so satisfying to contribute to the local community and to witness the impact of our support. The older people who use the services are so grateful”.

The charity offers a range of benefits to Business Patrons, including being thanked on their website, the opportunity to feature in their widely-distributed newsletters to donors, volunteers and supporters, and social media publicity.

Business Patron and Dulwich Village Beauty Clinic owner Lesley Leale-Green, says, “Link Age Southwark provides fantastic care and support to Southwark residents, so it was a very easy choice when we were asked to consider a business sponsorship with the charity! As residents and business owners within Dulwich, it’s important to show our continued and committed willingness to be a part of, and give back, to our community.”

Link Age Southwark will work with you to ensure that the partnership meets your business aims. The form of support given by each business will vary; it could be a donation, fundraising event, in-kind donation or product sale. For example, Lesley Leale-Green has chosen to make a donation for each booking of a signature facial treatment.
