Foxglove Forest School
Wednesday 10am-11:30, 3rd – 17th October

Join Holly, forest school leader, for an immersive outdoor learning experience. Each week will explore a new theme through stories, tool work, songs and craft! The fun family Forest School session based on Scandinavian learning. The sessions include storytelling, music and craft as well as a drink and a healthy snack.

Supporting the Dyslexic Learner
Thursdays 10-12, 4th October – 22nd November

A course designed to help parents understand how to best support your child at home and school. We will cover how to recognise different learning profiles, multisensory learning, age-appropriate reading matter and tools, note taking, mind mapping, making numeracy more visual and how to gather evidence that your child needs help and support. Come for the whole 6 weeks or chose individual sessions.

Art in the Afternoon

A series of art lectures covering current exhibitions on in London – coming up is a talk on John Constable, Celebrating ‘Ladies of Quality and Distinction’ and Frida Kahlo.

What is Dyscalculia?
10th October 7pm

Learn more about dyscalculia; the specific difficulty with understanding maths, symbols and shapes. This talk by Judy Hornigold will help answer your questions about Dyscalculia, how it differs from more general maths difficulties, and what interventions and support are best.

Hot Flush Women’s Health Event
13th October 1:30pm – 4pm

Join us as we talk about women’s health with menopause experts, in a positive and welcoming environment.

Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, Dr Karen Morton, will myth bust menopause, offer treatment options, and share facts on HRT, empowering women to manage menopause. Get your questions answered!

Women’s Health Physiotherapist, Christien Bird, talks all things pelvic health and how menopause symptoms impact on intimate relationships. She’ll offer simple and effective advice to improve quality of life, for now and the future.

Violin and Harpsichord recital
14th October 7pm

Brilliant young violinist Louis Vandroy and renowned harsichordist Caroline Berguis are coming to Bell House as part of their UK tour.  They bring a stunning programme of music by William Byrd, Biber, Schnittka, J.S. Bach and Vitali.

Beekeeping for Beginners
20th October 10am – 4pm

Another brilliant introductory beekeeping course, looking at the Bell House bees. The session is aimed at people who have little or no experience of beekeeping, but are interested in knowing more, perhaps with a view to starting to keep bees themselves or with others – or perhaps not! All beginners welcome.

Edward Burne-Jones: Exhibition talk
31st October 7pm

Alan Read will be talking about the Tate Britain’s exhibition, Edward Burne Jones: Pre-Raphaelite Visionary. This lecture examines the life and career of Burne-Jones from humble beginnings in Birmingham to the title of baronet and a memorial service in Westminster Abbey.
