Three-time winner at the Classical BRITs and 2013 Gramophone Artist of the Year, trumpeter Alison Balsom has an international reputation as one of classical music’s great ambassadors and is one of the most sought after musicians on the international circuit today. She will be performing at the MCT on Thursday 15 October, as part of the Alleyn’s International Concert Series, in support of Brass for Africa.

As Patron of Brass for Africa, Alison is presenting this concert as part of the AICS, but in support of the charity’s mission to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children, young people and their communities in Africa through brass music and brass music education. All proceeds from the concert will benefit Brass for Africa.

The first half will be a trumpet and piano recital with Tom Poster, then after the interval this special event will include a brief presentation about the charity and Alison will be introducing some very special guests to play with her including jazz trumpet maestro Guy Barker.

There are a limited number of Special Package VIP tickets which will include a 6pm-7pm pre-concert drinks event hosted by Alison.

The opportunity to learn and to play music together is quite literally life changing, especially for children surviving on the fringes of society in Africa. We hope that this event will raise significant funds for this essential work. You can read more about the wonderful work of this charity at www.brassforafrica.com
